Q: WHAT IS BOTOX? HOW DOES IT WORK?

A: Botox is a neurotoxin that temporarily makes moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines look better in adults. The repeated muscle contractions from frowning, squinting, smiling and raising the eyebrows create skin creases over the years. Injecting Botox in the muscles temporarily reduces muscle activity.

After treatment, patients will begin to notice a visible smoothing of the frown lines between the brows, crow’s feet lines, and the forehead lines, especially if combined with a skin care regimen.

Q: WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

A: Patients  may begin to notice results within 3-4 days, with results lasting up to 3-4 months for moderate to severe frown lines.

Q: WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT? DOES TREATMENT HURT?

A: Some patients report that being injected with Botox  feels like a pinch. You may use ice to numb the treatment area. Botox treatment is usually administered after numbing of the area to lessen discomfort.

Q: HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY TIME AFTER TREATMENT?

A: Treatment requires minimal downtime. However, it is highly recommended that patients do not massage the area after treatment. In addition, NO exercise for at least 4 hours.

Q:  HOW MUCH TIME DOES BOTOX TREATMENT TAKE?

A: The injection process takes a quick 10 minutes. Your specialist will discuss your treatment goals and perform a facial analysis to determine the appropriate treatment areas for you.
